He knows what you are thinking, and I’m not talking about Santa.  “Jesus knew their thoughts…”  Luke 11:17a
When I read Luke 11:17, I just stopped and thought.  Yep.  God does know our thoughts.  He knows what we are going to say and do before we even do it.  He gave us the power of free-will to decide if we are actually going to go through with what we are thinking.  That often takes a lot of self-control.

  • Romans 12:2, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (You want to have good thoughts? Then renew your mind.  Fill it with God’s word.)
  • Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. (That’s right!  Think about things that are true, respectable, just, pure, lovely, admirable, brilliance, and worthy of praise.  That sounds a lot like thinking about God.)
  • 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. (Confine your thoughts to obeying God.)
  • 2 Timothy 1:7, The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control. (It’s only through the power of God that we can discipline our self-control.)

Here’s a quick cause and affect lesson:  Let’s all learn to filter our mouths and actions by first only thinking of what is godly.  Be”cause” if we do…the affect of our actions will be good.
Blessings to you.
