Marley, ready for her ride to play with her new doggie friend, Sadie.

I’ve searched in the bible for the right bible verse to go with today’s thought, but nothing is settling with me. Maybe you can help me find the right verse.
We read about double blessings for Hannah, Joseph, Job and others in the bible. Well, this precious lady that I’m talking about today received just that…a double blessing.
Recently when my family went on vacation a lovely young lady (Leann) took great care of our dog, Marley. Leann is a vet assistant, so I felt confident in her ability to tend to Marley. We had agreed on a price per day for her services. But when I came home and discovered the mail and newspapers collected, home clean and didn’t smell like a dog (BIG plus for me!), Marley had her nails clipped and she was bathed, and above all…Marley was happy and healthy, I doubled her payment. Oh, and Marley got a new friend out of it all too…Sadie.marley with leann's dog
She didn’t realize that the payment was doubled until she had left. Leann sent me a message to make sure that I was aware of the amount. Absolutely! When you do a great job, you’ll get rewarded in the end.
Let Leann be an example for you:

  • Work without complaining. (Do everything without complaining or arguing.” Philippians 2:14)
  • Do your best in whatever you do. (“whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 )

  • I can’t speak for her to say that she did this, but… “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” Colossians 3:23

You know what? One thing that drives me crazy is when someone says, “What do I get for this?” when sometimes you just need to do something because it is the right thing to do. If you receive a monetary reward, that should be just an added blessing, not an expectancy. Many in our society need to get over themselves with their “what’s-in-it-for-me” or “I-deserve-this” attitude. Just do it and do it willingly. You’ll be blessed in the end. Okay, soapbox is over.
I pray many blessings and much joy for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
