plansLast November we put a contract on acreage that has a home on it. It was a short sale that wasn’t such a “short” process. We finally closed this summer, July 31st to be exact. It was like Christmas in July.
Several times throughout this process we thought we were closing earlier, breaking ground on the renovations, etc. High hopes of being in the newly renovated home were for THIS November. Well, November is almost over now and we haven’t even begun the renovations. Permits have been and are being approved, but “our” timing wasn’t what “we” had planned.
Yes, homes being built or renovated often take longer than the projected finish date (and the budget usually has increased), but the “hammer and nail” adventures usually have already started (at least I thought).
Throughout this entire adventure (yes, an adventure), God’s hand has been on it. We’ve seen how’s He has woven things together for us to even have closed on in it in the first place. And I’m quite sure that in the end we will be able to look back and see why this process took the amount of time that it has.
A saying that we’ve often said over the past year is “It is what it is”. Well, going through this has made me change that quote to “It is WHEN it is.”
God’s timing is not our timing.

  • “This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” Habakkuk 2:3
  • “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14
  • “There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
  • “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
  • “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.” Isaiah 55:8

In numerous instances Tim and I have been able to look back and see how God has connected-the-dots in a glorious way in our lives. God’s ways may take a little longer or may even be difficult and frustrating, but His deliberateness is always perfect. I’m sure this renovation process will be no different in the end.
No matter what you may be going through right now, remember:
God’s got this.
His ways are so much better.
His timing is perfect.
It is what it is. It is WHEN it is.
To God be given all the glory in the end and through it all!

I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
