seekingWe can often be full of ourselves.
Currently, while visiting the delicious Savannah, Georgia, I am full of scrumptious sweets, tasty foods, and priceless girl time with my daughter, niece, and sister-in-law. Thanksgiving is only a couple of days away, and most of us will be quite full of turkey, mashed potatoes, and all the fixin’s that go with it.
There are many “things” and emotions that we can be filled with to keep us satisfied in life…or not.
Many choose to fill their lives with “stuff” that are not the healthiest for them, whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They later pay the price for the unhealthy choice they made to satisfy them because they chose to fill themselves with things that are temporary.
It has been on my mind lately that we often tend to make choices in our lives to assist in filling some type of void we have in our lives. Like I mentioned above, we can have the tendency to fill voids/holes in our lives with “stuff” that can cause temporary relief, but in the long run, destruction can occur in some shape or form.
Dear friend, can I remind you of something? Or can I make you aware of some wonderful news? Or can I reveal to you the secret of true fulfillment and happiness?
In Colossians 2:9-10 we read, “I say this because all of God lives in Christ fully, even in His life on earth. And because you belong to Christ you are complete, having everything you need. Christ is ruler over every other power and authority.”  GLORY! If you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior, you have Him in you. Not just a portion of Christ, but ALL of Him dwells within you. Christ is FULL of His Father, our Creator, and you are FULL of Christ. Wow! That’s what I call a double blessing of fullness.
“May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ – for this will bring much glory and praise to God.” Philippians 1:11 Hello…when you have Christ in you, He has created so much goodness in you. Contemplate on these synonyms for righteous: honorable, moral, and goodness. That’s in YOU! Whether you believe it or not, you have an abundance of worth in you. In the spirit of Thanksgiving…you have a cornucopia of grace, kindness, and value residing within your being.
So while you are attempting to fill a void you think you have in your life, allow yourself to be reminded that you are truly FULL. Don’t just think of yourself as “full of it”, but full of Jesus Christ. (That deserves a huge smile to come across your face.)
I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
