The other day I was fervently praying about the whole process…the shirts, the meaning, and what charity God desires for a portion of the profits to support. Well, God spoke, I listened, and the recipient is humbly grateful.
In October 2011, I had the wonderful opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala, through the nonprofit organization, Orphan’s Heart. (See below for related links.) A dear friend of mine, Cherity Miller, was all excited and set to travel on her dream vacation, this coming summer, to Ireland. After much prayer, her plans have changed. An opportunity arose for her to go be a “house-mom” for four weeks this summer, the same exact time she was going to go on her dream vacation.
She prayed (and continues to do so), she felt God’s nudging (through a dream and other events afterwards), and she’s obeying. Praise the Lord!
Thank you for praying for Cherity as she prepares to be a house-mom in Guat for four weeks.
Cherity’s process hasn’t been easy. She says that stepping out in faith is often the hardest thing to do, but the most rewarding. I concur. She is delighted about this opportunity to serve. And as these occasions usually end up…she will be a blessing to others, but she will be totally blessed through it all.
She is claiming Jeremiah 29:11 as her verse throughout this adventure.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
So…a great portion of the proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go towards assisting Cherity to defray the cost of the mission trip.
