Storms of life. Boy do we have some.  Some storms are more difficult than others.  But when you are going through your specific storm, no matter how big or small, it is still a time of difficulty for you.
Within the past two days I have heard of “storms” in people’s lives and can feel and see their heartache.  Health issues, wayward children, loss of a child, a loved one’s salvation, betrayal of a friend or spouse, need of a job, a job change, tests in school, etc.  Whatever the storm is in your life, just know that God is for you.
In Psalms 56:1-7, we see again how David cries out to God during a storm in his life.
1-2:  “Be merciful to me, my God, for my enemies are in hot pursuit; all day long they press their attack.  My adversaries pursue me all day long; in their pride many are attacking me.”   Can you feel the pressure of his troubles?  Do you feel like this sometimes?  Those challenges in your life can seem to be hunting you down around every corner you turn.  You may feel like you can’t escape those trials.
3-4:  “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” When you feel beat down and like your strength has depleted you, turn to God.  This is always so much easier said than done for a lot of us.  But we must put our trust in God.  Have faith.  He can and will take away your fear.  Do not be afraid.  Remember the verse in Romans 8:31b that says, “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Take heart and hold and know that God is bigger than your troubles and He can make things right.  It will be in His time (immediate or unhurried), but He is in control.
·         Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
·         Matthew 19:26, “Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
·         Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
·         1 Corinthians 10:13, “You have never been tempted to sin in any different way than other people. God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted more than you can take. But when you are tempted, He will make a way for you to keep from falling into sin.
Verses 5-7, “All day long they twist my words; all their schemes are for my ruin. They conspire, they lurk,
they watch my steps, hoping to take my life.  Because of their wickedness do not let them escape; in your anger, God, bring the nations down.”
People can be mean.  Situations in life can be devastating.  But let God be the judge.  He will see to it that all is made right.
·         Luke 6:37,“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;”
·         Ecclesiastes 12:14, “For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.”

GOD IS IN CONTROL!
Blessings to you.
