Have you ever felt like an outsider? That’s probably how Saul/Paul felt when the disciples didn’t want to include them in their group because “they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple.” Acts 9:26. It just took one man to stand up for him and welcome him to the group. That one man was Barnabas.
Barnabas was a great encourager. Because of Barnabas standing up for Saul, many mighty things were accomplished in the name of Jesus Christ.
I always try to make sure that “the outsider” feels welcome to their new space. I try to put myself in their shoes (and I have been there plenty of times), and want to include them in conversation or whatever activity is taking place. When those times occurred and I needed a Barnabas, I so appreciated them. People like to feel welcomed.
Go be a Barnabas. Encourage someone today. Make them feel welcome. You never know, you may have found a new lifelong friend or at least for a season in life.
Blessings to you.
Yes! I have several! You’re a good encourager, Stephanie!
Thanks, sista. Back at cha. :0)
