I got a kick out of reading Proverbs 16:31 today. It says, “Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life.” Ha! I have PLENTY of gray hair, but that’s one crown I don’t care to show off yet at the age of forty-three.
My mom had four children. We are all married and have given her an abundance of grandchildren. Plus, when she remarried she gained four more children and their “better-halves” plus more grand children also. (Good thing her and my step-dad, Carol, have a large room for family gatherings.) Well, we are all in agreement (I think) that even at her age (shhh, not allowed to tell a woman’s age without permission) she does not need to stop coloring her hair. If she did, her whole head would most likely be gray. Wow! What a crown she would have to show.
Has my mother lived a godly life? Absolutely! I adore and appreciate her more than words can say. But, and I ready for her to display her crown of “living a godly life”? Nah.
This reminds me, I need to go call and make my hair appointment to hide my grays.
I hope you do have a beautiful crown of gray on your head. Maybe just not show it yet.
Blessings to you!

Thanks honey for your sweet words. Some women don’t want to tell their age. You know God has blest me with 71 years , a total of 8 Christian children and their mates and 15 terrific grandchildren and 1 precious great-granddaughter. There has been many ups and downs in my life but God has always been with me. I pray that others know that assurance. I love you honey and keep you in my prayers. God bless you.
