Just an update:
My mom just sent me a text via my brother, Kenneth. He wanted her to let me know that Mrs. Velma’s family just sang her into GLORY! He said it was a beautiful time. They all sat on the bed and sang.
Tim, the kids, and I are on vacation 3,000 miles away, on the opposite coast of where my heart is right now. Tears of joy and tears of sadness have welled up in me and running down my face.
Joy, because I know Mrs. Velma is in no more pain. She is running the halls of her new mansion she knew she was going to. She is probably standing (because she has been bedridden for so long), and not sitting, beside Jesus hanging on every word He says.
Sadness, because a loved one is not here on earth anymore to hold, touch, and chat face to face with. Oh, she is not only listening to Jesus, but she is watching her loved ones closely and can hear every word. (I am not “biblically” sure on that, but I can just imagine her smiling down on her family and friends.)
For a lady who has taught many people, young and old, about the love of God and His grace, let us continue in this tradition. Share Jesus with others so that they too will have the assurance of a mansion in Heaven and chillin’ out with names like, Moses, Paul, Noah, Job, John, and JESUS.
May the family feel God’s loving arms around them giving them big hugs from us all.
Baby that was beautiful> You are such a blest lady> Love you.
Beautifully said Stephanie. I have many memories of Mrs. Velma Newsome starting way back in my childhood. She was such a kind hearted sweet lady. Prayers of comfort for her family because she will surely be missed.
Pain may come in the night but joy comes in the morning. Thinking of you all. Stacee
Beautifully said! So glad that Mrs. Velma is no longer in pain. My prayers are with her family during this time.
gave me chills…..she was such a good woman…..praying for the entire family!!
So very well said. Ms Vel was such an awesome woman with great wisdom and faith. She will be missed for sure by many but what a celebration she is having in heaven right now.
I will pray, I will weep while I pray, then I will rejoice Velma Newsome was the type of person that you were lucky if you met someone like her once in your life. She was sent by God as an instrument to teach the way of the Lord. There are not enough adjectives to describe this WONDERFUL unselfish woman of God. I love you Velma and I am proud to have been a part of your life. We will see each other again and we cwill rejoice together. To the family; God wrap you in his arms and give you comfort.
God Bless all the Newsomes I know God has his hands around her and showing her the mansion in Glory. Praise God for her life and many talents she shared with people in the Lord. Love all of you!!!!! Cheri and Kevin Ennis.
