It is not through being a good citizen, working hard to get to heaven, treating people with kindness, following rules, etc. that makes you right with God. All this is great! But, these actions don’t seal the deal for you to live forever with Christ in Heaven. What will get you into heaven and not hell? If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raise Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Believe and be saved. That’s it!
Now, when you do this, will you want (desire) to be good, work hard, treat others right, follow rules, etc.? Yes. First, get your priorities right by saying with your mouth, “Lord, I believe. I have confidence in my soul in You, and that You were once dead and now are alive forever. I accept that you are God’s Son.” Then, all those actions will become like second nature to you. But they didn’t get you to heaven, they are just a bonus.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10
Albert Einstein said, “The more I study science, the more I believe in God.” If you are a “show me the facts”/analytical type of person, read the bible! It is the one book that is true. People have tried (and still do) to prove that it is not accurate, but the facts just continue to confirm its exactness.
Here’s a synonym lesson:
Confess (admit, come clean about an issue, own up, etc.) that Jesus (God’s son, The Messiah, The Savior, etc.) is Lord (God) and believe (accept as true, have faith in, have confidence in, etc.) in your heart (emotion, mind, core, soul, etc.) that God raised him (Jesus) from the dead (lifeless, deceased, etc.), you will be saved (protected, kept, set aside, etc.).
Have you done this? Will you please do this? The alternative is…Hell, eternal punishment, the lake of fire, Hades. Ummm, no thanks! I choose Heaven.
Praying for you.
Blessings to you.
