“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.” Is one of the famous lines from the movie “The Help”. (I loved it!) Holly and I embraced that phrase right away. I even sent those words to her on the first day of school along with a bible verse for encouragement.
When I read Psalms 103:8-10 this morning, it reminded me of that phrase. But… let’s make it about God. Okay, it would change a little and be a little longer, but here I go:
You is kind and merciful.
You is patient and full of love.
You don’t stay angry for long, and You don’t give me the punishment I deserve.
You is God!
Yes! He is “all that and a bag of chips”, and then even much more than that! Psalm 34:8 says, “Taste and see that the Lord is good”. Go ahead. Just like the saying from the Lay’s potato chip company, “I bet cha can’t eat just one.” Well, I bet once you get a taste of God’s goodness, you will want more.
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
nor will He harbor His anger forever;
He does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.” Psalms 103:8-10
Blessings to you!
