My mind and body are tired today. Yesterday was just one of those days when I came home mentally exhausted.  Last night I had heard some disturbing news about one of my relatives, and was privy to a bad scenario that happened between some teens.  Then when I tried to sleep, Tim was watching a show on television that kept my interest and the time past quickly, yet the hour became late. Throughout the night I would hear little bumps, so my sleep was very restless.  So when I sat down to read God’s word this morning I prayed to Him to keep me alert and focused on Him because my eyes and mind just want to close, and for Him to speak to me and through me as to what He wants me to journal about today.
Well, He did keep me focused and awake, and not only that but God revealed His word to me through the disturbing situations I had heard about last night.  He’s so cool how He intertwines the bible’s lessons with real life occurrences for me today.
When I read 1 Corinthians 15:33-34, I thought about the teen incident.  I had already prayed and thanked God that my son was not involved, and prayed for the boys who were and their parents too.  I know a couple of parents, and they are wonderful and godly folks.  The verses say, “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—“
Whatever the reason for the disturbance was with those boys was not worth the events that took place.  Somewhere along the way, someone must have been misled.  People may have good intentions and good character, but corruption can happen in an instant.
No one is above it all, only God.  There are those who think that just because you are a Christian that you stop sinning and nothing bad can happen to you.  Ha!  When you become a Christian, that’s when Satan tries to go full force on you.  That’s when we need to daily put on the armor of God and seek daily to be more like Him.  We will have “disturbances” in our lives, but we need to know Who to turn to and that He is holding our hand the whole time if we allow Him to.
Then when I read Psalm 107, I stopped after verse one and began praying and thanking God again for the many blessings in my life.  One of those blessings was for the rescue of my cousin.  To make a long story short, he was found passed out in his home with carbon dioxide poisoning.  If it wasn’t for his sister’s intuition and the resources of a neighbor my cousin might not be here today.  It was told to me that his neighbor found him in the nick of time.  Wow! Those are the same exact words that I read in The Message translation in Psalm 107:6.  It says, “Then, in your desperate condition, you called out to God.
He got you out in the nick of time;”

Here are verses 1-9 that I read today:

1 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His love endures forever.

2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
those He redeemed from the hand of the foe,
3 those He gathered from the lands,
from east and west, from north and south.

4 Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.
5 They were hungry and thirsty,
and their lives ebbed away.
6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and He delivered them from their distress.
7 He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love
and His wonderful deeds for mankind,
9 for He satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

Again, I don’t know the whole story with either of the scenarios mentioned above, but I do know that God can turn a dire situation and use it for His good.  My prayer now is that all those involved will cry out to God, be delivered from their troubles, feel God’s hand leading them in a new direction, and praising Him for rescuing them.
Whatever you may go through in life, stay strong in and close to God.  Cry out to Him in times of trouble and trust in Him.  Allow God to use your tough times to be a testimony to others as you have been given a new lease on life.  God is so wonderful and satisfying.  Hunger and thirst for Him and let God fill you with His goodness and love.
Blessings to you.
