Last week was a week of busyness. Each day was the same routine: super early mornings, jam-packed days, and long eventful nights. I knew what was going to happen, and it did. The moment I finally stopped to rest (on day five) the throat started to feel sore. The next day, the voice was a little scratchy, a cough here and there, and then the sinus pressure began. I even worked in getting a flu shot during those five days, and this all happens. Ugh! Cough cough.
Praise God He gave me a couple of days of testing for my classes (poor kids) so I didn’t have to “entertain”/teach with lots of talking. My voice was able to rest. Praise God He gave me a husband that knows when this happens, momma needs to rest and he jumps up to help out in the mornings so I could sleep in another one and a half. Praise God He gave me a daughter to bring me medicine while I’m in bed a night. And the list can go on and on mentioning all the wonderful things God has provided for me through others this week.
You know…He has a way of making us be still and know that He is God. He has a way of slowing us down when we busy ourselves too much with “stuff”. He has a way of making us keep talking and focusing on Him.
Several times this week, I would quote the verse God just gave us this week in “Walking in the Word”, 2 Corinthians 12:10, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” My body was weak, but I knew who would give me strength each day. Was I in horrible health? No, but I still took every step with God knowing that He is my strength.
Is God trying to tell you to “Be still and know that I am God” Psalms 46:10? Well, if He is, do it! Do it daily. Take a little time to relax and soak up The Son.
This is just a friendly reminder.
Blessings to you!
