In my September 27th journaling I asked for prayer for a little boy named Eric. A couple of days ago I listened to my sweet, prayerful, and godly friend, Billie Jo (the step-grandmother), as she laid out her heart and gave details about Eric, for an hour of conversation. When I read Psalm 116:8-14 this morning, our conversation came to mind.
It reads:
8 He has saved me from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling.
9 And so I walk in the Lord’s presence
as I live here on earth!
10 I believed in you, so I said,
“I am deeply troubled, Lord.”
11 In my anxiety I cried out to you,
“These people are all liars!”
12 What can I offer the Lord
for all he has done for me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and praise the Lord’s name for saving me.
14 I will keep my promises to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.
Was Eric near death when he drowned? Yes.
Have there been, and still continue, to have tears over his precious body that is slowly healing? A lot!
Is Eric able to walk so he can stumble? No, but we have hope and confidence in God who can able him to walk again.
Does my friend anxiously cry out to God daily for healing and believe that God can work a miracle in Eric’s life? Praise God she does!
I am grateful for Billie Jo’s faith and her strong conviction of how God can and will work a miracle in and through little Eric’s life.
God can use this precious boy’s life and accident to bring others to Christ and strengthen the faith of others in God. I believe this.
Billie Jo posted on her Facebook wall, “As I cry out to Jesus, why, and where are you? I know He is right beside me with Eric in one hand and molding all of us with the other… I believe “God’s got this!” He does have this.
Please continue to keep Eric and his entire family in your prayers. There are lives in Eric’s family that need Jesus. May this accident purposely bring those lives to God so they can have a personal relationship with Him, our Lord and Savior.
Here is an updated picture of little Eric.
Eric is still in the hospital and will need much care and rehabilitation. Thanks for your prayers.
Blessings to you.
