“Open my eyes so that I can see
all the wonderful things in your teachings.” Psalms 119:18
We are often reminded to open our eyes to gaze at God’s amazing creation. When you see a newborn baby, a sunset or sunrise across the landscape, the mountains covered with snow or colorful leaves with the changing of each season, etc. these are God’s little forget-Me-nots.
He teaches us to be appreciative of the beauty that often surrounds us, even when we may be in the midst of “non-attractiveness”. Seek the good and beauty and you will find it.
One place that many dare not venture into is God’s Word. The bible is full of wonder and wonderful things.
Yesterday my preacher mentioned a percentage of professing Christians who do not read the bible on a daily basis. When I searched for more information, Christianity Today mentioned that 80% out of those surveyed do not read their bible on a daily basis. Wow!
Would you miss breakfast, lunch, and dinner all in one day? I know I enjoy my three meals a day and often snacks in between. Imagine going without any food all day. No thanks. I would be one grouchy girl.
John 6:35 says, “Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
I want to encourage you to pick up your bible and be fed by His teachings. Open your eyes to all His wonderful instructions.
In today’s world, you have His Word in the palm of your hand most of the time. How? Your phone. Checkout biblegateway.com, bible.cc, or even click on the links to the bible verses below my journaling, and dive into The Word.
Don’t go without God’s instruction, or you may find yourself being grouchy like me when I don’t eat. J
Blessings to you.
