Can we post the following verses on every teen’s wall, bathroom mirror, door, etc.? Some may say, not only teens…. I’ll leave that for you to decide who wall you want to post it on. But I, being a mother of two teens and one more following behind them, I’m going with the teen’s wall.
Here we go:
“God wants you to be holy. He wants you to stay away from sexual sins. God wants each one of you to learn to control your own body. Use your body in a way that is holy and that gives honor to God. Don’t let your sexual desires control you like the people who don’t know God.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
Reread those words. Do you see what “God wants”? And it’s not just “God wants” it is what He wants for you! Remember, life is NOT about you. It’s all about Him and our relationship with Jesus.
God wants you to be pure:
2 Timothy 2:22, “Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.”
Titus 2:5, “They will teach them to be wise and pure, to take care of their homes, to be kind, and to be willing to serve their husbands. Then no one will be able to criticize the teaching God gave us.”
God wants you to stay away from sexual sins:
1 Corinthians 6:18, “Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.”
God wants each one of you to learn to control your own body:
Proverbs 25:28: “A person without self-control is like a house with its doors and windows knocked out.”
Galatians 5:22-23, “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
Use your body in a way that is holy and that gives honor to God.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
That’s all I’ve got to say, and I actually didn’t say anything, it was all scriptural. Thank You, God for Your word and Your desires or us. Amen.
Blessings to all.
