Proverbs 30:15, “A leech has twin daughters named “Gimme” and “Gimme more.”’
This was the first verse I read this morning.  Wow! What a familiar sound at this time of year.  “Gimmie.  Gimmie.  Gimmie.”
Do you have the “gimmies”?  Give me more toys, clothes, time, money, etc. Commercials bombard us all with new gifts and gadgets out there that in turn make us or others say, “Gimmie that!”
This weekend my church is presenting “The Light of Christmas”, a program portraying the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  I get to be one of the many cast members in the drama for this three night presentation.  Each time I witness the dramatization of the real story of Christmas I can’t help but get emotional.  God has a tendency to pull at my heartstrings.
Tonight I walked away remembering the verse from Proverbs and said to myself, “Yes, I’ve got the gimmies.  Gimmie more of Jesus!”
Allow me to ask you again….Do you have the gimmies?   I sure hope you want more of Jesus in your life.
Merry Christmas!  Happy Birthday, Jesus!  He IS the reason for the season and every season throughout the year.
Blessings to you!
