This is the nativity scene I purchased in Guatemala. I am always reminded of the wonderful mission experience there and of Jesus' birth throughout the year.

Well, tonight the Christmas décor came down in the Shuff home. Packing baby Jesus away in the trunk always seems so sad, and wrong.  I do have one nativity scene I purchased while on a mission trip to Guatemala that I leave up all year in my “travel” décor room, but for the most part, the only way you would know that it is still Christmas is by the plethora of lights on the outside of the house.
While I was putting away Christmas, the spirit of Christmas was still ringing through the speakers loud and clear.  I found it ironic that as I was feeling a bit gloomy about putting baby Jesus away, Colbie Caillat’s song, “Everyday is Christmas”, was playing.  Now, Colbie’s song is to a “someone special”, but I couldn’t help but turn it into a song for Jesus.  He is definitely Someone special!
In the chorus Colbie sings, “Every day is Christmas as long as every day you are mine.”  In Matthew 28:20 we read, “You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time.”  Who said this?  Jesus did.  That’s right.  When you have Jesus in your heart He is with you, everyday, each moment of each day, forever and always.  Ahhhh, yes, every day is CHIRSTmas as long as every day You are mine.
Thank You, my Savior, for being her for me and with me.  Amen.
Blessings to you!
