You know, having a reputation can be a funny thing. I remember when my daughter was in elementary school being popular was on her mind. Already! Crazy, I know. I used to tell Holly, “Being popular is fine as long as it is for the right reason. Bring glory to God in all you do.” Thank goodness her desire of “being popular” has long passed.
But do you struggle with what people think of you at times? Do you want to be liked by a certain group? Is the thought of others knowing who you are (not necessarily “knowing” you personally) important to you? Plain and simply put…do you want to be popular?
Here’s a little tip from God in Proverbs 3:3-4, “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.”
The ERV puts it this way: “Don’t ever let love and loyalty leave you. Tie them around your neck, and write them on your heart. Then God will be pleased and think well of you and so will everyone else.”
There you go. You can kill two birds with one stone. Be known for your love and being loyal. THAT will make you “popular” with God and others too.
Prayer: “Lord, I want to love and love passionately. I want to be loyal to You, and in turn my loyalty will spill over in my life. Pleasing You is important to me. If others take note of it, then that’s fine. Do you think well of me God? I hope so. Thank You for being the top priority in my life. Help me to keep L&L pressed upon my heart always. Love and Loyalty. Amen.”
Blessings to you.
