God didn’t have a four, six, eight, or even a twelve year degree.  He had a seven day degree.
How would you like your resume to read like the following:

  • God the Creator. Genesis 1:1-2
  • God the Electrician. Verses 3-5
  • God the Astronomer.  Verses 6-8, 14-18
  • God the Geographer and Oceanographer.  Verses 9-10
  • God the Farmer.  Verses 11-12
  • God the Ichthyologist and Ornithologist. Verses 20-22
  • God the Zoologist. Verses 23-25
  • God the Image Maker. Verses 26-28

God was a busy and successful One.  Each time He completed one of the above degrees, God acknowledged that it was good.   I believe I’d do the next step too.  In Chapter 2:1-3 God became the Rester.
But wait, God wasn’t finished yet.  With all His amazing successes, He knew it wasn’t all complete.  God added another title to His resume’.  He is “God the Surgeon”.  He looked around, and in Genesis 2:21 God decided, “Nope, man needs a companion.  Scalpel please.”

21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribsand closed up the opening. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.

23 “At last!” the man exclaimed.

“This one is bone from my bone,
and flesh from my flesh!
She will be called ‘woman,’
because she was taken from ‘man.’”

24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
Thank You, God, for being The Great Physician and performing an operation of Adam.
From the beginning God had a plan.  God created all things for a purpose.  He created man and woman to be companions and to be responsible for all that He had created.
We need to make sure we serve His purpose and step up to the responsibility He gave us.
Are you ready to be responsible?  You are here.  So get busy living and living with great tenacity for all that God has given to us.
Prayer:  “Lord, You created me for a purpose.  Help me to follow the plan You have for my life.  And, God, thank You for giving me Tim as a companion.  May we grow closer to You and in turn always grow closer to and more in love with each other.  Amen.”
