Tips for today to be more like Christ:

  • Serve others
  • Be compassionate
  • Be humble
  • Be the unexpected

Do these characteristics of Christ and:

  • You’ll be blessed.

When I read Matthew 20:20-21:11 the above God-like qualities stood out.  These described Jesus’ personality when:

  • He spoke with John and James’ mother when she requested a special favor for her sons.  Jesus said in verse 28, “Do as I did: The Son of Man did not come for people to serve him. He came to serve others and to give His life to save many people.”
  • He gave sight to the two blind men who were sitting by the road side, waiting for Jesus to walk by, shouting out to Him, “Have mercy on us.” (verse 31)  Jesus had compassion for these men and gave them their sight back.  What did they do? They followed Him.
  • Jesus had His triumphant entry into Jerusalem on a donkey.  There was no special procession on anything royal.  Some people praised Him and shouted ahead of His entrance, “Praise God for the Son of David!  Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!  Praise God in highest heaven!”(verse 9) While others questioned who He was.  His humble entrance was NOT what some were expecting from a king.

Do we sometimes think of ourselves as a little more “highly” than others and think “What’s in it for me?” News flash…..It’s not about you and me.  It’s all about God.  Serve Him and serve others.  Take the focus off of yourself and give to others.  You will have a better sense of gratification when you put others ahead of yourself.
When God has clearly opened your eyes to a situation and makes you see things in a different light, do you go about your own business or do you praise and follow Him?  Do as the blind men did and follow Christ.  He will help you see things more from His perspective if we keep our eyes on Him.
Do you praise God or do you question who He is?  When you know Him, truly “know” Him, you will praise Him.  How do you get to know Him?  Read your bible.  Seek Him and He will make Himself known.  Accept Christ as your personal savior. He is The Great I Am, The Alpha and The Omega, The Everlasting Father,….  As David sang in Psalms 18:1-2:
“I love you, Lord, my strength.  The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;  my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
He may not be what you expected…He is so much more!
Go and feel and be blessed.
Blessings to you.
