Do you ever observe the clouds and see what type of shape you can imagine it being? Many of road trips, picnics, and days of playing outside have lent themselves time for doing just that, “cloud observations”.
But what happens…as soon as you decide that you see the shape of a bear, you tell the person with you to look at the same cloud you see your bear, and POOF, either they see something different or your bear has now turned into another image.
Being a Florida girl, I have numerous opportunities to see amazing clouds of all shapes and sizes. In the summer the clouds almost show off their creativity with color, shape, and speed.
On the weekends I get pleasure from sitting in my backyard, leaning back in an adirondack chair, and enjoying God’s creation of the sky. The movements of the clouds are often mesmerizing.
When I read Psalm 39:5, my mind wondered to the above scenarios. It says, “The life of every human is like a cloud that quickly disappears.” (ERV) In the NIV translation this verse reads, “My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
Life is short, like a cloud that quickly disappears. When others observe you, oh you better believe they do and will, what imagine will they see in you? We are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). I pray they see an image of God.
Blessings to you.
