Do you need a “time-out”?
I thoroughly enjoy being with my family and friends. But there are times when I just need a time-out. I need to get away and have some “me time”.
You may be thinking, “How selfish of you?” or you may be one of many who say, “I’m with ya, sista!” But, I’m not talking about those “me moments” when I get a pedicure or massage or shopping or whatever makes “me” happy. Really, the “me moments” I’m talking about aren’t all about me. They are all about time with God and putting Him first.
Just yesterday I was reading some scripture and trying to type a journal entry. The television was going in two rooms, kids were talking to each other and kept walking in and out of the room asking me questions, and I just couldn’t concentrate. So I picked up my belongings and headed out of there. Not far, just to my bedroom. But the solitude was grand. It was just me and my Savior.
This morning when I read Luke 5:16, “Jesus often went away to other places to be alone so that he could pray.” I was the one saying, “I’m with ya, Lord!”
Jesus was all about healing, teaching, and preaching. But even He needed to get away from some goodness and doing good to have alone time with His Father.
Let’s take Jesus’ example and carve in some “me moments” with God. Do it daily and see the change in your life and attitude.
Go, give yourself a Time Out.
Blessings to you!
