Today a friend told me the story of the amazing transformation of her husband’s life.  I’ve heard small parts of his testimony before.  But this afternoon I got the whole package.
It’s not mine to share, and I wouldn’t dare without permission (Oh, how I would love for him to write it all down and share it on this website. Hint hint.), but what I can assure you of is that God is in the business of changing lives.  Praise God!
When I read Luke 23:46 today, my thoughts turned into a different direction than normal.  You see, the verse has to deal with Jesus being on the cross and what He said in His last breath.  The Easy-to-Read Version of the bible says, “Jesus shouted, “Father, I put my life in your hands!” After Jesus said this, he died. These words reminded me of the words of my friend’s man.
You see, (only a snippet) he had had numerous misfortunes in his life, and on his fourth, and last, time of being arrested, he finally got real with God and talked to Jesus.  He didn’t even think that God would listen to him, but said a plea to God as he was sitting in the back of a police car.  He told God that if He would get him out of this situation, he would turn from his ways.  Well, it wasn’t but a few seconds later and the office opened the car door and told this young man that “Sir, it is you lucky day.”
He walked out of the patrol car and went right to church the next evening.  He gave his life to God and repented of ALL his sins.  It has been over fifteen years, and he has not backed down from his promise he made to God.  He is a devoted father, husband, and child of God.
It was as if he told God that following Sunday night, “Lord, I put my life in your hands!”  He breathed his last breath as a sinner sold out to the world, and breathed in his new life in Christ Jesus.
What about you?  Have you given your life to Christ?  I mean fully.  Put your whole self in God’s hands and follow Him.  You won’t regret it, and you will feel more complete that you ever have in your life.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Amen!
Blessings to you.
