I woke up from my nap, looked down at my wrist, and noticed that my cross had made an impression into my skin. This indention made me think about what type of an impression I do and will I leave on others.
When reading 2 Samuel 7-9 you sense the impression that David had on others. Throughout his life he has displayed success in all his endeavors, loyalty, and obedience to God. He also exhibited kindness and the desire to honor the God who blessed him so much. As we follow David’s life throughout the bible, we understand that he wasn’t perfect, he did make mistakes, but he did desire to have a heart for God.
I’m sure David’s life was observed closely by others. The title of “king” brought many opportunities to leave an “impression” with others.
I may not have a royal title of “Queen Stephanie”, well…maybe the “queen mom” of my household I do, but I do have a title that brings about much observance from others. If you are Christian, you do too. The title is A Child of God.
In Proverbs 15:3 it says, “The Lord sees what happens everywhere. He watches everyone, good and evil.” I feel pretty confident that God isn’t the only one watching some of our moves. Others are watching too.
Like David, when people see me, they will discover that I’m not perfect, I do make mistakes, but I sure hope it is obvious that I desire to have a heart for God.
Blessings to y’all.
BTW, the bracelet that I have on has been on my arm for about a year now. I purchased it from my friend, Donna Scarcella, who sells Silpada Jewelry . It is sterling silver and cord. It’s only $18! That would make a great birthday, graduation, Christmas, friend, etc. gift. You truly do not need to remove it. Black and silver, and the daintiness of it all, goes with everything. If not, it will make for a great conversation piece. You can share Jesus with someone or share this story of making “impressions” on others.
