July 4th. Independence Day for America. Happy Birthday, America, land that I love!
This is the day that we celebrate our freedom. Many of us may consider ourselves free from “other things” in our lives. Freedom from: a disease, a bad relationship, no school for a few weeks!, etc. Whatever held you in bondage, and now you are free from it, celebrate your freedom!
We’ve probably all had strongholds in our lives. I know I have. Anything that causes a burden, and encumbers our relationship Christ is a stronghold.
If you have a stronghold in your life now, boy do I have some good news for you! You can be FREE from your heavy load. That is the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth. In John 8:32 we are told, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Then how can we find “truth”? Acts 13:38-39a tells us, “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through Him everyone who believes is set free from every sin.” Yep, it’s that easy….BELIEVE!
Okay…so believe in what or who? “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. Believe in Him!
You may ask yourself, “Self, first I need to find Truth. I find truth by believing in Jesus Christ. So how does this make me free?” Well, self, here’s another verse for you, “But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.” Romans 6:22. You are now free from the bondage of sin, and now become a servant for God. This new found freedom has given you everlasting life. Not a life in torture and a life doomed to Hell, but a life of peace, love, happiness, and so much more than you can ever imagine.
Go ahead…celebrate your freedom IN Christ!
