Yep, you saw this picture with the title and you thought I was talking a "dude". Nope. But this guy is one "good dude". I love my man. And he loves God!

Saul (who later became Paul) was one bad dude.  But this all changed in an instance.
When he was on the road to Damascus he met Jesus.  I’m not talking about “Hi, how are you?  My name is Jesus,” kind of conversation.  Jesus appeared in the form of a “light that flashed from heaven” (Acts 9:3), and Saul dropped to his knees (verse 4).
This meeting was the beginning of one of the greatest testimonies ever told.  Paul’s conversion from Persecutor to Preacher is one to be admired.
In Acts 9:8-9 we read this: “Saul got up from the ground and opened his eyes, but he could not see. So the men with him held his hand and led him into Damascus. For three days, Saul could not see; he did not eat or drink.”  When I read this it made me think that those men, who were speechless during the encounter of the road to Damascus, may have been leading/guiding Saul to town, but when Saul became filled with the Holy Spirit (verse 17) it wasn’t those men guiding him anymore, it was God.
When Paul started allowing The Trinity (God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) to direct his paths, amazing things happened and God’s love was spread all over the place.

  • Soon he began to go to the synagogues and tell people about Jesus. He told the people, “Jesus is the Son of God!”  All the people who heard Saul were amazed. (verses 20-21a)
  • “But Saul became more and more powerful in proving that Jesus is the Messiah. His proofs were so strong that the Jews who lived in Damascus could not argue with him.”  (verse 22)

You may not have the type of “WOW” conversion that Paul had, but you do have a testimony about how your life is now after you’ve giving your heart and life to Jesus.  He has made a difference in your life.
Allow yourself to be led by God, feel His mighty power in you, and go share His love with others.

  • 2 Timothy 1:7, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
  • Proverbs 3:6, “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
  • Mark 16:15-16, “He said to them, “Go everywhere in the world. Tell the Good News to everyone.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. But those who do not believe will be judged guilty.”

Blessings and God’s abundant love to all!
