I have had a Duck Dynasty kind of day. No, I didn’t sit and watch old episodes on tv. But I did sit and watch a ton of videos on the computer.
When I read the scriptures this morning, they were all so good I just didn’t know what to write for my journaling. But when I just went back to review them this evening I recognized how God allowed me to spend my day relaxing on the computer and enjoying His Word being revealed through those on the show.
In Esther 8:1-10:3 we see how Esther and Mordecai stood strong in their faith and spoke up for the good of God. Well, that’s what I observed numerous times through the Robertson family, and others associated with Duck Dynasty.
In Romans 16:1-27 we read how you should be careful of those who try to hurt your faith, and it also encourages us to continue to share God’s love. Again, the testimonies I heard from Phil Robertson and his family state that they have been tried by Hollywood to not be so godly and not share God’s love so much. But they firmly believe in faith and family in that order, above all else.
In Psalm 103:1-5 it talks about praising God. I couldn’t tell you how many times I heard the Robertson Clan, young ones included, giving praise to The God Almighty.
Naysayers can try to tear down a good, clean, godly, family show and say that it is not real and their actions are not their own. But as we read in Proverbs 21:2 God will examine our hearts to see if our actions are right. From what I gathered today, the Duck Dynasty family members are rightly living out their faith.
If you’ve seen the show, you know Mountain Man talks r-e-a-l slow. So I prepared myself, when I started to watch this one, knowing that it may take a while. Well let me tell you…this 17 minute talk is worth it! It brought tears to my eyes the simplicity of his testimony and the encouraging words he has for our youth today. I hope you take the time to watch this. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3sqDcBMzb0&feature=share
Blessings to all.
