There have been several times when I’ve gone back to an old journal entry to read it and have had to shake my head at the grammatical errors I’ve written.
I’ve often wanted to type a journal entry as a disclaimer to remind anyone who reads my writings…”Warning….I am not perfect. My words are not eloquent. Mistakes are made. Please don’t judge. Forgive. Thank you.” (I just had to giggle when I typed the above disclaimer, because my spell check is informing me that the word “am” is not correct in “I am not perfect.” The computer says that it should read “I is not perfect.” Hmmm, it appears that I’m not the only vessel who makes grammatical mistakes.)
Well, this morning when I read 1 Corinthians 2:1-9 , it was as if God said, “Here you go. Add your disclaimer here. You are in good company with Paul.”
My words may not be impressive and full of great wisdom, but the message does come from the Spirit of God, and if you read between the lines, you’ll see His truth revealed.
The goal I’ve always had is to share God’s word in a way that makes anyone, believers and non-believers, understand that God’s word can be, and is, applied to everyday life situations. His teachings are just as real today as they were thousands of years ago.
It always baffles me when I do type some entries, and I wonder if it makes sense to anyone but me, that those are often the entries that more people comment to me about. Comments such as; “Thank you. This really spoke to me today.” or “I needed this one.”
They are not my words, but the words that the Holy Spirit gives me. I am so grateful that God uses me as His vessel to share His truth in a real way.
There…my disclaimer is now out there.
Thank you for spending a little time with God through my journaling each day. You all keep me accountable.
Blessings and God’s abundant love to all!
