I love teaching! There are some factors that definitely try to take the joy out of teaching, but all in all…I love it. When I see students have those “aha moments” and help another student understand a concept and encourage them to “get it”, it puts a smile in my heart and on my face.
God is the Greatest Teacher ever! I imagine He gets the same satisfaction when we learn a lesson, have an “aha moment”, and even assist others in the lessons of life.
Some folks have been known to extend their four-year degree to a lengthier stay for some reason or another. Others try to get out of the classroom as quickly as possible. Well, this chic is in the classroom for life with Jesus Christ as the instructor. I don’t want to leave this school of learning (until He calls me home). The lessons are often difficult, but always beneficial. There is so much knowledge and wisdom to be gained.
When I read Psalm 119:66 today I just camped on it and prayed for God to teach me, teach me, teach me! It says, “Teach me knowledge and good judgment.”
There are a plethora of verses that deals with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as The Teacher. Here are some just to name a few:
- Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-5
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Psalm 32:8
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
- But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
- If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:5-6
