I am grateful for so many reasons.
God has blessed me with family (extended and all) who not only love me but have their priorities right and love God above all. We are instructed in Matthew 6:33to “seek first the kingdom of God”, and praise God my family does. They have taught me so much as to how to be a lady, friend, sister, mother, and Christian.
I have friends who are there when I need them most. Even when I don’t necessarily “need” them, they are there to laugh with and share good times with.
I have a job that I love, and am surrounded by the greatest group of co-workers and boss. I work in a place where w
e are not ashamed to let others know that we are Christians by our love, “Tigers for Christ” club, and “Teachers in Prayer” group.
God takes care of all my needs. I want for nothing, and if I do, I only want it if God wants me to have it.
Last night I was reading 1 Peter 4:10-11. It says: “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.” As I reflect on the gifts that God has given to me, I am humbled. I am grateful that He has allowed me (for about two years now) to share His word with others in a way that I pray others can easily relate to. I am not the most eloquent writer by far, but whatever He has me pen, I pray that He receives all the glory. Thank you for reading and encouraging me to keep sharing. I pray that I encourage you to share God’s love with others as well.
This week has come and gone. Our first Thanksgiving without my mother-in-law present. Well, she may not be physically here, but here presence is felt in this home, while walking in the woods, and recreating the traditional Thanksgiving meal. (Which, by the way, turned out pretty good.)
I am not a big fan of visiting gravesides. (That’s just not me.) When we stopped by Jany’s this week, those flood of various emotions welled up within me again. I am thankful for my daughter, mom, and husband who were there for me to express my emotions. Their strength and wisdom was just what I needed to hear and even see.
I am thankful that God reminds us to be thankful in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18). I am. I am very thankful!
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving Day. Count your blessings, name them one by one. (I hope that takes you a while.)
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all.
There have to be “firsts”, and our first Thanksgiving without Jany was tough but special. God has blessed us with a great family and a group of Christian friends who support us daily.
We’re headed home Friday, and I’ll miss my Kentucky home, birthplace and physical resting place of my wife and best friend, but we look forward to Plant City and continuing to discover our new life. Thanks be to Jesus Christ for the certain hope all Believers share that we will spend eternity in Heaven with our loved ones..

I had never noticed the coolest thing before….like my Daddy, you have three brothers. Guess what his brothers’ names are. Yep! Mike, Ken and Kevin! (Ken is in Heaven.) I love those kinds of fun coincidences!
No Way!! That’s cool! Thanks for sharing, Jill.
