He takes pleasure in those who honor Him, in those who trust in His constant love. Psalm 147:11
What do you take pleasure in?
Today has been a pleasurable day for me. I got to see all my boys (Tim, Hunter, Cole, and Granddaddy) take off for a weekend of hunting, and most importantly arrive to their destination safely. Shortly after they departed, Holly, Ellie (our family friend), and I packed the up the vehicle and headed for a weekend of surfing.
I was expecting it to be a bit chilly, but to my surprise, the weather was a fabulously sunny 75 degrees. It was a pleasure to put my toes in the sand, watch the girls in the water, and feel the sun shining down on me.
The waves were a tad rough, but both girls tasted success on their surf boards. Tomorrow, we’ll hit the beach at sunrise and hopefully catch the waves at a more calm state.
So, today I’ve taken pleasure in:
- Morning hugs and the words “I love you”
- Safe travels
- Warm cookies handed to me when I checked into the hotel (Mmmm)
- Gorgeous weather
- Girls who were determined to surf and succeeded
- A refreshing shower
- Reading God’s word
- Feeling God’s love and grace wash over me
- Laughter
- A comfy bed to rest my head tonight
This list could go on, and changes daily. But one thing that doesn’t change is God’s constant love He has for each of us. Praise Him!
I hope that you will find pleasure in the big and small things in life. But most of all, honor, love, and trust the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. This will give Him pleasure.
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all.
