This morning in church my pastor (Dr. Brain Stowe, Brother Brian) brought a commanding message.  One of our beloved members posted this on her Facebook wall: I’m assuming that every person in our worship service is a born again believer. Why? If not, I can’t see how they could have resisted the invitation presented in a powerful message by our pastor this morning.  I couldn’t agree more with Mrs. Hall’s comment.  I was ready to walk down and give my life to Christ all over again.
We were all challenged to think of someone who doesn’t know Christ and how we can be used by God to help that someone to know and believe in Jesus.  Many believers walked down to kneel at the altar and pray.  As I was standing at my pew and praying, I prayed for the two names that came to my mind.  I prayed for God to use me to show them Him, if He so chooses.  I prayed for them to be broken.  As I was praying for them to be broken, I prayed for myself to be broken from any ungodliness.
When we are broken for God, we have a choice.   We can choose to attempt to fix ourselves, or we can have God restore us.
Just last night I broke one of my salt shakers.  While praying today, I imagined my broken salt shaker.  If I were to patch it up, it wouldn’t be very pretty and probably wouldn’t be able to serve its purpose for very long.  If God were to restore it, He would make it all new again.

  • “The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.  You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.”  Psalm 51:17
  • Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  2 Corinthians 5:17
  • 13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its taste, it cannot be made salty again. Salt is useless if it loses its salty taste. It will be thrown out where people will just walk on it.  14 “You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden.15 People don’t hide a lamp under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand. Then the light shines for everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:13-16

What about you?  Do you need to be broken so that God can restore you to Him?
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
