Day 3:
This first thing I had to say to myself this morning was, “I can do all things through Christ Who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13. The routine of getting up early again wanted to get the best of me. But I thought about the commitment to myself and to even journaling about my journey while trying to encourage others. Yep, whether you are deciding to join me in building our bodies and spirit together or not, you were a motivation for me today. God definitely had to be my big motivator today, and He did.
Today I discovered that my knees aren’t what they used to be (not that they were ever that good anyhow after an old softball injury), and that I didn’t care for all the “planking” the instructor was wanting me to do.
But even though I found myself over modifying, I would think about the slogan I saw come across the screen. I hadn’t noticed the slogan on Day 1 and 2, but today I saw it twice. It was: Commit, Challenge, and Succeed.
I can do this! I can Philippians 4:13 it!
I made a commitment. When times get tough in life, remember Who you are committed to. God will see you through it all.
This is challenging me in various ways. Just as staying strong in your faith and doing the godly thing can be a challenge at times, again…lean on God and He will see you through it all.
We already know that God wins in the end. All the glory will be given to Him. He has succeeded. 1 Corinthians 9:24 says, “ Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” In The Message translation, verse 26 reads like this, “I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.” So we need to run with everything we’ve got both in our physical and spiritual walk. We’ll succeed if you lean on God to see us through it all.
