Yea, I bet you thought I was a slacker. Not this chic.
According to the exercise chart I get Saturdays and Sundays off. Well, not completely. Those days were filled with cleaning the house and scrubbing and pressure washing the garage.
I had noticed that the chart tells me to stretch on Saturdays. The color print and font was different, so I thought that meant no DVD. Well, this morning when I went to look through all the DVDs there are, guess what DVD I found…STRETCH. Oh well. I would have loved it, but I’ll just have something to look forward to.
Today’s routine was the one from Day 1 where it kicked my booty. This morning was a different story. I was stronger, more controlled, and no “stop & walk around to catch my breath” time needed. My motions were deep and focused. I still did modify some areas, especially when it came to lots of pressure on the knee, but those were the moments when I found myself going even deeper.
I work out in front of my French doors, so I use them as a mirror to keep a check on my posture and motions.
Tying it all in to our Walk with God:
- When you are a new Christian, don’t’ feel like you are going to have the whole Christ-life down and perfected every move. Heck, that will never happen no matter how long you’ve been a Christian. But going deep into God’s Word is vital to your walk. You don’t have to quickly join the choir, teach a Sunday school class, go on a mission trip, do an in-depth bible study (like Beth Moore), etc. right away. Yet, I want to encourage all to do an in-depth study (Yes, especially like B.M.) to get grounded in Christ and to know and understand His word more each day.
- Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
- Staying focused on God helps your daily routine. When I was focusing on my exercise movements, I just knew that it was going to cause me to be successful in the end. I felt that I was going to be tone and in better shape. That’s how it is with our daily lives as well. When we keep “The Main Thing the main thing” we will have success in the end and our lives will be in much better shape.
- Romans 8:5, “ Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”
- Keep yourself in check. I was seeing my reflection in the doors’ windows to keep my posture right and movements strong. Do that with yourself with God. Look into the bible to make sure you’re living an upright life. Hopefully you and others will begin to see more of Christ reflection in you.
- Ephesians 5:1-2, “You are God’s dear children, so try to be like him.2 Live a life of love. Love others just as Christ loved us. He gave himself for us—a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God.”
Enjoy getting fit physically and spiritually.
