As some of you know, this chic, at the young age of forty-five, got Invisalign. (Two devotional entries right here.) Last week, one of my students looks at me and said, “Ms., your teeth are getting straighter!” (the students rarely say your last name), I proudly agreed.
God brought the question to my mind to write about, “Can others see a difference in you?”
When you have Christ in you, you are different. Not different/weird (although some may think so), but The Holy Spirit comes in and you feel a genuine and exciting change. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” Praise Jesus! A new me! A new you!
You know the feeling of having something new? Ahhhh. I bought a new car last November, and the “new car” smell still lingers. Sweet! Earlier this year I bought a new rug for my floor. Great! It makes it look more complete. Today I went shopping and bought a new pair of jeans. Perfect! I love the way they fit. My car, rug, and jeans bring about some of the same feelings that being a new creature in Christ brings about.
Think about it…
- Just like my car, 2 Corinthians 2:15 says that “For we are unto God a sweet fragrance of Christ.” I hope you dab the fragrance of Christ on you and let others smell your sweet aroma.
- Just like my rug, Colossians 2:10 reads, “And because you belong to Christ you are complete, having everything you need. Christ is ruler over every other power and authority.” To steal the famous line from the movie Jerry Maguire, “Jesus, You complete me.”
- Just like my jeans, check out Romans 5:1-2, “We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.2 Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are very happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory.” Boy oh boy does Jesus make me happy. Happy, happy, happy!
A couple of other bible verses that help us to make sure that others see the change in us are:
· Romans 12:2, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
· 2 Corinthians 3:18, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplatethe Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Can others see a difference/change in you? I hope so. Live a changed-life.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
