This isn't the sunrise from this morning, but the sunset on Saturday evening while fishing.

This morning I was out walking my dog, Marley.  All of a sudden we hear this piercing tapping noise.  This startled Marley and so she sat down in the grass along the road.  I looked up to the right and saw a red-bellied woodpecker tapping on the metal part of a street light.  I thought to myself…why?  You’re a “wood”pecker, not a “metal”pecker.
While Marley was now lying down in the grass, I squatted down beside her.  When I did, I could see the sun rising through the heavy hedge on the left side of the road.
A grin came upon my face as I gazed at the sunrise and thought, “Isn’t this just like life.”
The woodpecker was beautiful, and it was enticing something its way.  It didn’t make much sense for the gorgeous bird to be tapping on the metal, but isn’t sin the same way? Sin can be beautiful and enticing, but it’s not the right thing to do.
The sunrise was symbolism of turning away from sin (the “metal”pecker) and self, and turning to The Son.
Do you get it?  Do you now have a grin on your face as well?  That grin is a smile of peace.  When we turn to The Son we feel peace.  When we stay dabbling or wallering in sin we lose sight of what’s right and eventually we have turmoil.
In Proverbs 1:10-19we read about how sin entices you.  In verse 10 it says, “My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!” Later in verse 15 we read, “My child, don’t go along with them! Stay far away from their paths.”
I pray that you always look to “The RISEN SON”.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
