Recently we were staying at a hotel on the east coast in Amelia Island, Florida. I woke up early, stretched, saw the time, and thought to myself “the sun should be rising soon”. I was all comfy in the covers so I just lay in bed dozing in and out of sleep, and didn’t get out of bed until around 7:30.
Later, I pondered, “Why didn’t I get up and see the sunrise?” I was a little upset with myself.
So the next morning, my biological alarm clock went off again around 6:30. Without hesitation, I jumped out of bed, peeked through the heavily shaded curtains, and saw the morning’s sunrise.
I grabbed my phone to take a picture and said, “Good morning, God”, and had a sweet prayer time with Him. Seeing the sun first thing in the morning was the perfect way to start my day.
Amen! Let’s try that statement again… “Seeing The Son first thing in the morning is the perfect way to start your day!”
Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Yes! He made it. Each and every day. We need to wake up grateful for the new day that we’ve been given.
So go ahead and be upset with yourself when you don’t start your day seeking The Son. Or better yet…start your day seeking The Son and rejoice in that day!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.” Numbers 6:24-25
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
