I remember a comment a friend of mine made about re-touching the color of pictures, and it has stayed with me.  She said, “Why is it we feel the need to improve on what God has placed in front of us?”
I am a threat to modify the color, sharpness, or soften a picture.  Digital convenience has allowed us to re-touch photos in a variety of ways.  (Now that state could take us in a whole new devotional, but I just may save that for another time.)
Well, this past week, while at the beach, my friend’s comment came to my mind again. I was sitting on the seashore, with my polarized sunglasses on, admiring the breath-taking colors of the water and sky.  I told Holly to just look at the calming and rich colors that God has painted for us.  That’s when I noticed that she’s not able to see the same beauty as me because Holly wasn’t wearing her polarized sunglasses.  I gave her mine and a smile came over her face acknowledging the difference in her sight.
That made me wonder…just maybe we aren’t “needing to improve on what God has placed in front of us”, but what if what we see through our polarized glasses or re-touching is how God truly wants us to see things.  Beauty magnified!
We often go through life observing things, people, or places one way, but God sees things totally different.  What we may view as ho-hum, He sees as glorious.  What we see as a hopeless case, God sees His beauty shining through it til the end. What we may observe as just plain ole ugly in appearance, God sees the beauty within.
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.  Ecclesiastes 3:11
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.

So, which photo do your prefer?  (top, middle, bottom)
None show still show the beauty I saw through my glasses.
