This morning when I went outside I could sense that it was going to be a beautiful morning. When I heard the birds singing, as the sun was rising in the sky, I started singing the song from the musical “Oklahoma”:
Oh what a beautiful morning
Oh what a beautiful day
I’ve got a beautiful feeling
Everything’s going my way
Yes! It is going to be a glorious day. My beautiful niece is going to marry her sweetheart. What a beautiful display it is when you see a man and a woman who love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, become one. I pray that God will shine down on their marriage for a lifetime. May they radiate God’s love to each other and to those around them. May their lives be filled with laughter, music, and lots of love as I know it will. Congratulations James and Calli Jo as you become Mr. and Mrs. James Baker today. Always keep Christ the center of your marriage. Fall more in love with God each day, and your love will grow closer and stronger as well. I love you!
- Genesis 2:22-24, Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
- Ephesians 5:22-33, “For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. And we are members of his body. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
