The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.” Exodus 33:14
I don’t know about you, but I felt complete peace and confidence when I read this verse.
These words are not meant for Moses alone. Nope, it is meant for you and me as well.
I ended up reading the entire chapter to get a better perspective. (Click on the verse above and read it for yourself. Put yourself in Moses’ position and find confidence in God.) I love how Moses would just talk to God like He was just a friend. Wait a minute, that’s what He is! Well, not “just” a friend, but the Lord our God can be your BEST friend. So guess what? You can chat with Him the same way. Tell God your desires, voice your opinion on situations, share with Him how you are feeling, and then listen. Yes, He knows everything already, but say it out loud yourself to Him makes it more real for you. And just know that when you talk to God, get into His word, and wait on Him, He will reveal things to you.
Okay, now back to my original thought on this verse (I often have “squirrel” moments.)…no matter what you may be facing today, know and take confidence in this that God is with you. Actually, He has already gone before you. Just take His hand and walk on about your day.
“The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
I just reread Exodus 33:14 again and the song by Bob Marley popped into my head, “Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right.” I must agree. Don’t worry, God tell that in the bible:
- “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
I pray that you will feel God’s presence with you today as you take one step at a time. Be confident in knowing that Jesus is with you, and that everything thing is going to fine just fine.
I pray God’s abundant love and much joy for y’all.
Honey, you are so right. No matter what you are going through God is there for you and with you guiding and lifting you up. It is such a comfort to feel His presence.
I needed to be reminded of this Stephanie. So often in my prayers or my conversations with God I hold back thinking ” I can’t say or pray that !” But I needed the reminder I can say everything to the Father. He already knows my every thought , feeling and concern. What a comfort. He is my Father and my friend. It is okay to pray my heart that is what he wants us to do and it is what we need. Peggy
