christ is my home “I can’t wait to get out of this small town!”
Those words have been lingering around for many of years in numerous parts of this world. I hear them year after year from teens and young adults. My own daughter is more of my free-spirited/beach loving/get-me-out-of-my-small-town/I-just-want-to-travel-the-world teen.  Heck, I remember saying “I can’t wait to get out of this town” myself.
Well, I did a couple of times.  I went away to college, and then Tim and I moved away (not far, just an hour) to Kissimmee, Florida for three years when we were first married.  When I became pregnant with our first child I wanted to be close to my mommas, so back to Plant City we came.
Moving away, for us, was a wonderful experience.  It forced Tim and me to rely on and grow closer to each other as newlyweds, and it made me appreciate my “small town” more.  Ahhh, home.
When I read Psalm 90:1 the word “home” took on a more powerful meaning.
“Lord, through all the generations You have been our home!” Psalm 90:1
Beautiful!  It reminded me that no matter where my earthly address is, Christ is my Home.
You’ve heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is”.  Friend, if you have accepted Christ as your personal Savior, then He has made your heart His home.  Wow!  The Lord IS Home, and your heart is His home.
No matter how often you may want to “get out of this town” and adventure into the ways of the world much like the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), I hope that you will realize that just as he did in verse 18 it’s time to turn back and go home.   Christ is waiting for you wherever you are.  Come and appreciate Him even more.
“Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”  Colossians 3:16
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. John 14:23
“You should know that you yourselves are God’s temple. God’s Spirit lives in you.1 Corinthians 3:16
I pray many blessings and much joy for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
