Challenge on!
Okay, so it may not be a challenge to really bring your bible to school or work, but sometimes being bold to leave it out and share it is.
Yesterday the youth pastor at my church, Ricky Lindsey, posted on social media that October 8th is National Bring Your Bible to School Day. His tag quote was, “By all means bring your Bible every day. But if this encourages 1 person to start a great habit then I will promote a national day” I replied, “Really?” And guess what? It is! Checkout the website: http://www.bringyourbible.org/
They’re opening paragraph says, “Welcome to Bring Your Bible to School Day! On this day—Thursday, Oct. 8—thousands of students across the whole country will share God’s hope and celebrate religious freedom by doing something simple, yet powerful: They’ll bring their Bibles to school and talk about it with friends!”
I’m thinking to go beyond the just school, and take your bible to work. You could simply place it on a prominent position on your desk or work area and see if anyone says anything. I am! It’s not that I don’t already have bible verses in my workspace, I do, but to place my bible on my desk daily (in an age of technology and it’s on my phone easily), in a public school, just honestly isn’t something that I do. Maybe I should more often. Hey, students, it’s the best history book there is. Truth!
So, I challenge you, hopefully it’s not really a “dare” to take your hardback, softback, real paper page turning bible to work and/or school today. Take note of any comments others may say to you. Pray for God’s boldness to penetrate through you and your words. Then, PLEASE reply back to me and share what others had to say or what your had the opportunity to share. I can’t wait!
Don’t have a desk, job, or school? Carry it with you in your arms, take it to the restaurant and place it on the table, whatever you do and wherever you go just have it out and visible.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. ” Romans 1:16
I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
