we are like carsThis morning I drove my husband “manly” truck to school. While driving this hefty, diesel, roaring vehicle this thought came to my mind, “Our family’s vehicles are like the human race.” And here’s what I meant by that, and what God pressed on my heart.
If you were to describe the four automobiles in my family you could use these words:

  • black, white, and brown
  • jerky and smooth
  • quiet and loud
  • some worth more than others
  • flawed
  • all the same model

Doesn’t this sound like a description of people? From race, economic status, personality, and characteristics.
Now, this is what the Lord pressed upon me:
It doesn’t matter if we are black, brown, or white; some folks are jerks while some are calm, or maybe even some “smooth” talkers…God loves us all just as we are.
Our “worth” may vary according to our finances, but to God we are all worth His Son dying on the cross for our sins. We are priceless to our Heavenly Father.
Flawed? Absolutely! But through faith in Jesus Christ and believing in Him, we become flawless.
We are all human, all made in the image of God. The real difference is whether or not we know and have Christ in our hearts. Will you be going to heaven or hell when all is said and done?
“Now, in Christ, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or free, male or female. You are all the same in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28
“In this new life it doesn’t matter if you are a Greek or a Jew, circumcised or not. It doesn’t matter if you speak a different language or even if you are a Scythian. It doesn’t matter if you are a slave or free. Christ is all that matters, and he is in all of you.” Colossians 3:11
“If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. 10 Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.
11 Yes, the Scriptures say, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.” 12 It says this because there is no difference between those who are Jews and those who are not. The same Lord is the Lord of all people. And he richly blesses everyone who looks to him for help.13 Yes, “everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-13
I pray that you will enjoy soaking up The Son every moment of each day. –Stephanie
