Truth.
According to the dictionary, the word truth means: sincerity in action, character, and utterance; the state of being the case; the body of real things, events, and facts; a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true; the body of true statements and propositions; the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality; the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality; AND…God.
This morning I was reading chapter 8 in the good ole book of John. The word “truth” and “true” seemed to intertwine itself throughout many of the verses. That word just wedged its way in my head. So I began to meditate about: telling the truth vs. a lie; things are often said to be black and white; we find ourselves in situations where the “water” may be hot or cold or even more we saturate ourselves in the lukewarm; and ultimately Satan is the father of lies and God is the Father of Truth.
In Revelation 3:15-16 Jesus said, “I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” He literally wanted to vomit. I pray that I don’t ever make Christ feel this way. Unfortunately, I believe that I have at times in some situations. (Forgive me, Lord.)
Dear friend, stop living a life of dishonesties. Turn to God’s word. His word, the bible, is true. “You can trust this: Every word that God speaks is true. God is a safe place for those who go to him.” Proverbs 30:5
Open it up and allow God to speak to you. “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16
Don’t listen to what Satan whispers in your ear or beautifully unfolds in front of you. “He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44b Oh, he is and can be very enticing, but watch out! 1 Peter 5:8 speaks this truth, “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”
I pray that you will enjoy soaking up The Son every moment of each day. –Stephanie
