Yesterday I wrote about “How to be Happy”. By the day’s end two precious people felt much sadness in their lives. One dear loved one felt like they had lost their best friend as a relationship ended, and the other did lose their best friend, as her husband was unexpectedly called home to Jesus.
We often attempt to say words of comfort to others when they are struggling through seasons in life, but the only way they will discover true comfort during these times is through Jesus Christ.
In Proverbs 4:25 we read, “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.” When we go through difficult situations in life (no matter what it is) we often feel lost and then next step we take may be aimlessly wandering. The main thing we need to do is keep our eyes focused straight up on God. He is where we will find comfort, peace, rest, and love.
I’ll leave the rest of today’s words to come directly from the bible, and if you are hurting today please know that you’ve got someone right here that will be praying for you, and better yet, a Heavenly Father that will wrap His arms around you.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” Romans 8:26
“Now comfort me with your faithful love, as you promised.” Psalm 119:76
“The Lord says, “I am the one who comforts you.” Isaiah 51:12a
I pray that you will enjoy soaking up The Son every moment of each day. –Stephanie
