“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Recently Tim, his dad, Cole, and I took the boat out for a day of fishing, and of course lunch. As we were leaving our lunch destination granddaddy and Cole took the helm up top, Tim was entering numbers into his depth finder, and I was chillin’ out near the bow of the boat. The conversation between granddaddy and Cole was priceless. Wayne (granddaddy) was instructing Cole on various marine laws, what to do and not to do while driving a boat, etc. As I was listening to his boat navigational wisdom, my heart was so grateful that my children have wonderful grandparents. Grands who don’t only love and spoil them, but that help guide them in the ways of the world and knowledge in Christ.
I had to snap a photo of this moment because I just knew that moments like this are treasurable.
Kids (young adults and adults as well) if you are fortunate enough to have grandparents around, listen to them. Appreciate your elders and spend time with them. Hug them! If your blessed to have godly grands, like my children have (and I had), be attentive to their wisdom. They’ve most likely “been there done that” so learn from their successes and mistakes.
Grands, if you are far away or near your grandbabies, call them, text them a verse or positive word of the day, hug them, don’t wait on them…you’ll be turning a little more grey from waiting a while. Sorry. Unfortunate truth.
“Always remember these commands that I give you today. Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up….And when you’re on a boat.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7…and added by me.
I pray that you will enjoy soaking up The Son every moment of each day. –Stephanie
