“You must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.” 1 Peter 3:15-16
When you demonstrate your adoration for Christ, you have a tendency to have a little pep in your step, a pleasant countenance, a hopeful attitude, and/or just that little something that attracts others to your cheerful personality. People take notice.
When others recognize the difference in you, they may inquirer about your hope as a believer. Be ready. Be ready to give a simple or maybe a detailed answer. How? Maybe you’re not a talker, but trust me…when you ask the Lord to give you words to say, He will! So be ready to ask Jesus, daily, to prepare you for those words or actions you need to say and display. Be ready to be real. Be yourself clothed in Christ. Be ready to be kind and humble in your words and deeds.
If people speak against you, no sweat off your back if you are living a godly life. Just keep living humbly for Him, pray for them, and the truth will always prevail. Those naysayers just may have their eyes open and see that they were wrong about you. Like The Message translation says, “Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath.”
Don’t just live the good life…live the god life. Happy Thursday!
I pray that you will enjoy soaking up The Son every moment of each day. –Stephanie
