My man soaking up The Son in the sun. <3

I know of a lot of people, but I don’t truly know them until I build a relationship with them.
The same could be said of various situations in our lives.
We don’t truly understand and intimately know someone until we become acquainted with them.
There is one relationship that should mean more to you than any other. Beyond your affiliation with your spouse, child(ren), parent(s), and/or sibling(s), there is another bonding that should be more passionate and more proven than these family relations. THAT relationship is with Jesus.
Don’t just know of God, really KNOW Him.
Knowing God is not about religion, it is about a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. A personal and real relationship. (Click here for “It’s About a Relationship”.)
Paul knew this all too well. He was a devout Jew who believed in the law so much that he became a Pharisee. When Jesus got ahold of him, everything change for Paul. He didn’t just know of Jesus, he knew and depended on Jesus. It all changed for Paul because of faith; faith in Jesus Christ.

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord… I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with Himself depends on faith…. I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. Philippians 3:8a,9, and 10a (Click here to read Philippians 3:1-11in its entirety.)

Paul’s knowing of Christ went from stoutly defending his religious beliefs to strongly protecting his relationship with his Lord and Savior.
How can you truly know Christ? Jesus said in John 17:3, Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Know Him by:

  • Giving your life to Him. He already gave His life for you.
  • Build your relationship by spending time in prayer each day. One friend mentioned that he had a roommate who talk to God throughout the entire day, so that when he would lay his head down at night he simply said, “Goodnight, God.”
  • Open up the bible, God’s love letter and instruction book to you, and read it. Read it and apply it to your life. When you read the bible, dig deep. Turn those pages or swipe your screen to find yourself lost in His word desiring to know more.
  • Surround yourself with other fellow believers for encouragement.
  • Enjoy falling “in-love” with God. (Click here to read about falling in love with God.)

I pray that you will enjoy soaking up The Son every moment of each day. –Stephanie
