cast all your anxiety
A teen girl, we’ll name Maria, was having issues with a relationship. Actually, not just one relationship, but a few. Maria treasured her friendships and was troubled with the division that was taking place and was feeling discombobulated over the relationships.
Throughout the week, Maria would recognize that when “she” tried to create a sense of harmony to the relationships, she was still feeling estranged from the connection they once had. Twice she decided to explore God’s word and inquire His blessings. Both times she immediately discovered a surge of peace washing over her. God would calm Maria and she found purpose and placidity in her life with Christ.
So what happened? Well, the relationships are still a work in progress, but it was revealed to Maria that whenever “she” tried to solve problems on her own it would cause unwanted anxiety in her life. When she would turn to Christ and allow Him to be her friend, her troubles were transferred into much tranquility.
Why do we do that to ourselves? Yes, “we” all do this, not just Maria. We want control of situations, discover that God would do a much better job at it that us, give it to Him, only to later take it back and try to solve the situation independently from Him. It is a vicious cycle.

Any of you who try to save the life you have will lose it. But you who give up your life for me will save it. Luke 9:24

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

“Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Take a lesson learned from Maria, and lose yourself in Christ. Cast all your anxiety onto Him and feel His tranquility wash over you. Give your trials to God, and leave them at His feet. Don’t pick them back up. God is in control.
